Soho, London

If there is one colour that I love to see in autumn it would be orange.  It shines out like a warm light on those cold rainy days, & it makes me smile*.

It is also wonderful to see Wellington boots (or gumboots as they are known in New Zealand) out & about.  This is a 'trend' I am particularly pleased about;  It gives me a way of managing to be both practical & fashionable whilst freezing on the sidelines at my nephews saturday morning soccer games!

xxo

* It particularly makes me smile when it is nestled amongst the black & camel tones which form to create the Burberry tartan! :-)

Brick Lane

An Old Classic...

Aaaah - the classic british pub, so beloved by the nation....and, I have to admit, by myself.  Now, I don't really drink, but these are pretty stunning places to visit.  Dare I say it, they are the churches of booze, and just as churches are highly decorative places to worship the Holy Spirit, these are equally gorgeous temples to worship another type of spirit!

Peek-a-boo...

One of the sad facts of the modern age...

Wonderful Waterways...

Best Bar None...

The first time I ever came to London I was taken to this bar... down a side street next to Charing Cross Station....  To visit Gordons is to plunge back through time.  It is a glimpse into London past - a London of Dickens, Keats.... the walls are literally dripping with history!

In a dark corner, by candlelight, a glass of red in your hand, you can feel the weight of years past, and this - the history - is one of the reasons I LOVE this city!!!
